OK! Yes! I am playing the game.  All applesauce is and should be gluten free. Why am I writing a blog about gluten free applesauce? One, of the fastest, easiest, and most delicious snacks, is gluten free applesauce “LOL.” 

One of the cheapest fruits is apples.  A fruit that is rarely out of season is apples.  Apples can be found in any market, and they are so easily accessible.

Everyone should know how to make applesauce.  The fact that all applesauce is gluten free applesauce makes it something that can be made for anyone. Gluten free or non gluten free, almost anyone can eat applesauce.

Here is how it’s made, and you will not believe how easy it is. I had a bag of apples and needed to clear off a space. Now my family will have applesauce for dinner, and it literally took me less than 30 minutes to make.

Ingredients

– 7 pounds of apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
–2 Tbsp water
–Sugar if desired
–Cinnamon if desired

Take a large soup kettle with a snug fitting lid.

STEP – 1
Peel apples, remove core, and cut into chunks.

STEP – 2
Put apples in pot with 1-2 Tbsp of water.  (The only reason to add water is to make sure that the apples don’t burn.)

STEP – 3
Cover pot with snug lid and put pot on stove on a low setting.

STEP – 4
Check often.  When apples are soft it is done! How easy was that?

STEP – 5
Taste and see if it needs sugar.  Sprinkle cinnamon if you want.

 

Applesauce can be made from unpeeled apples also.  If you have a sieve then you can just chop the apples and cook.  After the apples are cooked then run them through a sieve.  It will keep out the peeling and seeds, and it is actually much easier than peeling.  I peeled mine because I know that not everyone has the right sieve to use.

Hope you try this.  It is not only delicious. It is useful as baby food, people with upset stomachs, people with diet restrictions.  Almost anyone can eat applesauce, and its delicious!
